Free level check
Had a letter from subaru today saying they are offering a free fluid check and top up if needed. Also a ecu update if needed too. Quite good really but not sure the ecu update would wipe maps though?

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the ECU update.
My 2008 Sti hatch missed getting the ECU update at the docks, dealer PDI & first annual service, with two different dealers, despite me asking multiple times if the update had been done.
Thanks to Rob84 for looking deeper to ensure the critical update had been applied to my STi hatch, registered July 2010 well after the ECU update was issued.

Well the dealer will not be able to change or update mine as i have EcuTek RaceRom on it. There welcome to top up the fluids and pump up the tyres. Not that my under bonnet fluids will need it but checking the gear box and diffs will be welcome.

All years i think mate. I have a 52 plate bug and got a letter. Give your local dealer a shout and see what they say.

I got a letter as well... but following shocking service from 1 main dealer, then catching another main dealer out, who took my car for a spin when a test drive had already been done with by me & a Subaru/IM Tech, I wouldn't let a main dealer pump my tyres up!!
Best place for the letter....the bin.
Edited to add: I'm sure there are & do hear good reports of there main dealers, just not the ones i've had contact with in South Wales!

With every respect guys - you drive performance cars and claim to be enthusiasts, surely you are capable of checking your own fluid levels? OK so the rear diff means laying on your back for 5 minutes - big deal! I find the thought of driving God knows how many miles to a dealer just for him to check the oil/fluid/water levels, just a bit alien to my knowledge of things mechanical!
If you do take them up on this, don't forget to check your oil and water levels before setting out!

The rear diff may be accessible at a squeeze, the RB is 10mm lower at the rear and 30mm lower at the front than a std STi. I thought the gearbox had to be done from underneath? I cant even get my head under my car.

Let's face it, the only reason Subaru are offering this service is to get people back to the delears where they will be hoping to get people to purchase stuff and book servicing.
John is right, this is stuff we do/should check ourselves but why not let someone else do it and top everything up if needed for free?
To be honest, I highly doubt I will take them up on the offer, my closest dealer is miles away. Woodford is the closest to me now I think

Donna took ours in for its check up on Friday,no ecu update needed, just an engine oil top up.Nobody tried to sell her anything, and there was no charge. They were welcoming ,friendly and took her car in instantly, and provided coffee.
