This is a buyers guide for the RB320, but should give you some good tips & an idea of what to look for - http://www.rb320ownersclub.co.uk/ind...2810&hl=buyers

Guessing it is a UK spec 2.5?

Coming from someone who bought one 10 days ago and now looking to at spending 2.5k on an engine rebuild as the rings have gone!

Ask if it's every had an engine rebuild. If not then becareful as if you start pushing the hp up, you could damage the engine.

Cylinders 2 and 4 are the usual culprits. If it smokes at any point, becareful. Mine spits out small droplets of oil out the exhaust. Let it tick over and put your hand up to the exhaust for a minute and see if any oil comes out.

Also, ask if the head gaskets have been done as they are a weak point to the car.

check the road tax. If registered before 23rd March 2006 you will have lower rate.

Ditto the above.
A rebuild by a decent bulider is what I would be looking for.
Or budget between 3 and 4 K for the same.
Mine has done 110K and was rebuilt at 100K.
I bought it new. It has been mapped and is PPP, but not much else. Has had fully synth oil every 5K and been tracked a good few times.
