Short engine long engine ??

What's the difference is one the 2.0 and the other the 2.5 ?

Short:




Long:




Short block is just the cylinder block with rods and pistons etc, long block also includes cylinder heads. Hence short and long blocks

Ok thanks. I was confused because to me a block is a block and heads are heads and a full engine is a full engine lol. Would like to also add that exhaust manifolds are not headers, in my world a header is something Wayne roony is crap at.

Totally agree on the manifold-header comment. I think it's an American thing, its an exhaust manifold FFS !!!!!!!

Yep. It's an Americanism that I can't abide, too.

But its usage has become ubiquitious in the Subaru community for some unfathomable reason.
