Default Should a version 6 v limited have a number plaque??

hi all,new to subarus and this forum, always had ford rs's but I'm actively looking for a version 5/6 v limited type r and I'm not having much luck!!
I have found a version 6 v limited type r but it has a number plaque inside.
I know the version 5's are not numbered as they were limited by time and orders placed.
Is the version 6 I'm thinking about the same as the version 5 where the type ra's were numbered?
Also what year were version 5/6's available as this 1 is on a w plate which is about 1999?
Any other info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks and I look forward to getting involved more in this forum.

Believe there were 1000 V6 limited made and im not sure if it should have a numbered plaque. Another easy spot is that a genuine limited will have a roof vent.

This is a good site to help check models etc If your unsure if its a V5 or V6

Is there any other way to check apart from roof vent and engine code?

Averyp2,looked at every 1 of those adverts already and simbs car is very nice but too modified for me.
I feel the 2 at sva imports are a bit expensive but I called up and the guy was as dry as a week old kebab with me,I have the money here and you would think he didn't want to sell cars such was the way he dealt with me.
The other car is at hurst cars and I don't think it's a v limited as it doesn't mention 'v' in the title and there are no centre gauges????
Away to call about the version 6 just now to get some details as it's a long way away and there's a few things I noticed that weren't right in the pics.
There's a version 5 v ltd on eBay I'm maybe going to see but I feel it's a bit expensive too as he's valuing the £250 plate on it at £1100 and he's not willing to remove it and drop the price.
I might sound like a miserable Scotsman but I just want the best I can get for the right price.
Thanks for the replys!

Thats because there are no Version 5/6 V-Limited only Limited so the car at Hursts is correct.

The v limited were only available up to v4, after that they were just called limited. The one at hurst cars is a pukka v6 type r limited, the centre guages will most likely be an optional extra

Hurst have a few options if you look on their website. Good reviews on here too.

Best of luck (from a V6 WRC edition owner )

All the V6 Limited models should have a plate. Including the wagon.

How come you went for that one? it has the v8 scoop which does not suit the classic at all and to top it off has the chav lights at the back

I have a v6 and there is a plaque on it with number/1000

Got mine from Hurst cars and he knows what he is talking about an such a pleasure doing business. Made life so simple and pointed and all faults (what little there was).

Good call!

Styling is down to preference but IMHO a standard scoop (£40) and some STI rear lights (£150) and your there. Keep it pristine and in a few years the value will shoot up. When you see what P1's are going for, theoretically these should be worth more

Im with Admiral on the insurance with a multicar policy.

Well worth having a look a Simb's car, the mods shouldn't put you off, the Fully Forged 2.5 is more of a bonus as Type R's along with P1's are known to go pop around 60k no matter how they have been maintained. The torque the 2.5 makes is mind blowing, coupled with a short ratio box makes for a very nice road car. It's not over the top but a nice amount of power.

The brakes alone on his car cost over £2K and he's a real girl when it comes to taking it out in the rain/winter

The car I have bought isn't to my taste bodywork wise so the scoop, vents, bumper, lights etc will all be going,I have sourced some bits and pieces already.
As for simbs car it was more than what I was willing to pay for a third car and not my cup of tea.it is really nice and I kept coming back to it but It wasn't for me.

I think you'll find that all the limited models say that...
Here's another one for instance.

I've never heard of a 'WRC EDITION'. I think people just get confused because that's what it says at the bottom of the plaque.

But all the plaques on the limited read 'wrc limited' on them.
What differences does the "WRC" edition have as all my searchs only show the normal limited models.
