Default increased bhp

thinking of remapping my wrx how noticable would 30/ 40 bhp increase be worth it ?

Remap is the best value for money mod on a standard car, you may need a few extras like fuel pump and air filter before hand though.

It's not just about the bhp, a remap by a decent mapper completely transforms the car.

If you're gonna Go to the expense of a remap it would make sense to do a few small mods and go for 50 +
Imho going for such a gain vs the cost it's not worth it

Yes, that's quite true - let's assume it's a newage WRX, in which case, all you really need to do is fit a decatted link pipe to hit 270-280 (and possibly a panel filter + backbox).

That's what I was thinking , or if it's a late classic it's gonna be an ecutek job so he's gonna be paying top money for a map so he might as well make the most of it
Thats what I would do ( well I wouldn't I'm a tight **** lol)

If it's a bog standard WRX, then yes you'll notice a big difference. Standard they feel so dull and lifeless.

Assuming new age WRX, get a decent sports cat /decat exhaust on there, uprated panel filter and fuel pump (maybe 3 port boost solenoid) then a ECUTEK remap by a recognized expert.

Will get you to around 270 + of bhp and lbs ft. but -as importantly- will make the car significantly more responsive and torquey throughout the rev range.

More or less what I did with mine, gained 63BHP.
Andy F / Alyn from ASP did say a fuel pump was not essential at those power levels.

Why ecutek for a new age ? ,a good mapper can get exactly the same results with o/s , without the need for the licence fee
