Default Brake pads,,,, talk to me....

Hi guys,

Still waiting to hear back from Ian with his recommendation but thought Id ask here to.

Basically I'm after a set of pads for my powerstation Porsche setup - http://www.powerstation.org.uk/porsche_brakes.asp

Car is a mildly tuned classic which is only used as a fast'ish' road car. Not looking for anything mega but a decent set of pads would be good.

Any ideas and where would I find them ?

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt

We are running Performance Friction Z-Rated pads, which has been faultless like on the track or on the road, before we are run DS2500 which has been very dusty and they're not brake as we are want(I would say they're been poor)

We are tried only once EBC Bluestuff NDX which has been our biggest mistake, not sure about the Orangestuff, but I wouldn't put them on our wagon.Agreed they're cheaper than PF,Pagid, but still I will rather pay more for PF,Pagid or Ferodo

Speak to Alyn@AS Performance and Bob@Aztec or Ian@Godspeed

Cheers Jura.
I wouldn't use EBC even if you paid for them...lol...

Currently got Tarrox in which have been 'ok' but not quite as I want. Pagid were my first choice but as you say, expensive. Best price I've had is £299+vat.

I put Orange stuff pads on my V3 STI with gold Brembos & after a month of hard road use Iv found them to be very good. Iv not tried them on track yet so can't comment, but I expect them to be fairly good.

Pagid are good pads, but depends which one..Out there is few of them,I'm not sure but Powerstation Porsche setup is same as GT3 RS and i've seen those pads(Pagid) in US for 299USD

Tommy as I said we are running Z-rated pads and they're been faultless like on track/drag or fast road driving, they're not so dusty as DS2500 and braking improved, which is biggest plus for us

What AP you are running,do you know which one AP callipers you are running(CP5555 or CP5070 / CP5570)?

For the Powerstation kit they are custom pads, nobody (that I know of) actually make them "off the shelf" as such. So you will be buying the pads and then be paying for them to be custom cut.

We have the same calipers on our car.

Different pads work differently in different caliper setups. EBC Bluestuff NDX work very well on those calipers (as used on our car).

Would you be able to supply pads already machined to directly fit my calipers ?

I believe these calipers can be found on the GT3, surely Porsche supply pads that fit directly ??

Yes, we've done it for a few customers now. It would depend on which pads you went for though. I will PM you.

GT3 pads fit the calipers just fine - they don't clear the bells though as yours are 2 piece discs and the original GT3 discs are one piece.

Cheers fella, send me a few prices too if you could.

Appears my monthly impreza spend is gonna be on the high side what with pads and clutch...lol...
Any chance of a deal on the pair :-)
