STi Test drive...
So I went to view a sti this afternoon and took it for a drive. First sti I have driven and I was blown away.... Couple (OK 3!) of questions though..
How do I know, without seeing the PPP certificate that it is infact PPP? Would a check show this up?
Whilst looking around the car I noticed there was what looked like a heat wrap hanging down from the mid section, is that normal for it to be wrapped there? The fact it was coming off makes me think anyway but hey...
Car hasnt done that many miles in the last year, 1800 in fact, anything to look out for because of that? The service history stacks up very well, as does the old MOT's etc...
Car is an 03 Sti, standard engine wise, just a bigger exhaust. It has covered 63,000 miles...
Any advice please.....

The exhaust should be a Prodrive stamped one. The ECU will have Prodrive on it, under the near side carpet. There should be a certificate in the paperwork.
The PPP fitted a new rear box but I don't know if a new downpipe as part of it. Standard cars have a two piece downpipe with two CATS in it, and alloy heat shields surrounding the cats and downpipe. Definitely no heat wrap.

Had sports cat fitted as standard i beleive and there is a ppp sticker on the inside of the drivers door on my model.
Heat wrap coming off is not too much of a worry as someone has added this at some point, dont beleive they came standard wrapped sure somebody will correct me if im wrong lol
Dont get hung up on the ppp side of things tho, if you cam find another sti non ppp same condition for less money then consider this but an exhaust, filter and get it mapped by the guys on here and will feel better than a ppp imo
Also has 255ltr uprated pump in tank

Cheers appreciate it.... you know what its like first one you see and you have to have it!! Haha. Have all week to look now so will not rush. Bodywork was OK but not great, so will see what comes up before I make a decision ...
PPP for me wasn't a must have, as you said a few bits and a good remap and it will benefit better I'm sure.
