The material used has a proven design for reflecting heat & light , so at first you would think twice the heat soak
However if you imagine the stock fire blanket holding heat & energy under the bonnet you could see why this may work . Heat would be reflected & as heat rises it would escape through the scoop / I think adding vents to the side & front would be a must tho ,that way you would maximise its potential

The scoop is blocked off open air from under the bonnet by the undertray , so any rising heat under the bonnet would need to go through the intetcooler to get out. Im pretty sure the current liner is for sound deadening , nothing to do with heat.

Yes CSW I am aware
Sorry for not been so clear / using a front mount & having the scoop as means of escape through modification , also adding vents (or slots ) to sides & bottom of bonnet / aware of the deadening only saying it stores heat & energy as does the whole bonnet /
Ps I'm not remotely interested in this product , it isn't for me
I'm just saying - or should have / in Motorsport conditions this may aid cooling with right supporting mods / probs would need the whole bonnet layered tho

I was asked to test these in road conditions and my initial thought was that these are not for me (silver) because of heat retention. Tests were done on a silver liner, a black liner and no liner whatsoever. Extensive tests showed that heat retention with the silver, although identifiable was a lot less than anticipated. A black liner showed little or no increase in temperatures over the control test on a clean and recently painted bonnet. Equipment used included data logging with sensors strategically located.
From past experience, removing the blanking plate under the louvre leads to disrupted under bonnet flow.
