mapped for 95 RON ?
Hi guys,
My car is getting mapped on Monday at AFP so I'm pretty excited about that.
I'm having a dual map as I mentioned in a previous post, but just had a thought.
The second map is a low boost map, which is for garage/wife use. However, Andy offered a 95/99 Ron and I wondered if I got a 95ron low boost as my second map? If I'm on that 95 Ron map what happens if I have 99 Ron in? Would that be ok?
Im just thinking if it supports 2 maps (yes I know it only adjusts boost) then I'm as well having it. I never use 95 Ron but handy just in case...

As DT-SPD said. You cant over do the Ron only under do it. I also have duel maps on my car mapped by Bob Rawle. Road map for 95ron and race map for 99ron. The 95ron map is not just lower boost, it also uses less timing. I only had the racerom features like auto blip ect put on the race map, the 95 map has nothing. I did this so it would be an easy reminder without flicking the switch and counting the cel flashes as to what map i am using.

Cheers. I can't get RaceRom on my 2003 car, but was told I could get either 95/99 RON or high/low boost.
I'm just hoping to have a combination, 95 LOW boost / 99 HIGH boost.

TBH it's a pain thinking about which fuel to use and what's in the car when you fill it up and what percentage it will be if you top it up with a different RON.
Then thinking about keeping Octane Booster in the car if you want to have a play with 95 RON in the tank..
Just get it mapped for the fuel you are going to use and get a reduced boost second map
Just IMHO.

Im told if you use 95 ron you should use at least 2 full tanks of 99ron before stitching back over to the 99ron map to be sure you are now running on 100% 99ron.

My idea about the 95 Ron was emergency only, and the low boost is garage/wife mode. I'll very rarely switch to this low boost map anyway, just happy that on the 95 Ron map it will be ok with 99 Ron...
Thanks for advice, excited about visit to Andy Forrest on Monday.
