More burble
I have a 2008/9 STI Hatch
Prodrive exhaust system on it.
I am looking to get a deeper/louder burble from it without making it insanic.
Whats the best thing to do for starters?
Thanks

Replace the centre/rear pipe to remove the resonator with a H&S one..

Will that make it louder? The resonator box is tiny.

That's the 2nd cat replacement pipe.
This is the centre/rear pipe......

Removing any resonator will make it louder..............

You say you have a Prodrive exhaust - from that I assume you are running the PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack). If so 2nd Cat would have been replaced.
http://imdomino.imgroup.co.uk/imggb/...6?Opendocument
You also need to understand that various people/manufacturers name their exhaust parts differently to Subaru.
Item1 below is the 2nd Cat assembly which is called "Exhaust pipe assembly-center, front" by Subaru. Most people know this as 2nd part part of the down pipe.
Item 25 is the "Exhaust pipe assembly-rear" but most call this the centre pipe.
Your resonator on Item 25 may not be as large as shown as it varies for market area to market area.

Same decat pipe
Spend the money
They are all around that price.
you could ask cobrasport what they would charge for just the rear pipe

Cheers for the info pal

If the prodrive back box, with the second cat removed, is too quiet you have three choices...........
1) Replace the rear pipe to remove the resonator for a through pipe as discussed (I still have all my cats but the H&S de-resonated pipe plus silencers give a nice burble on the saloon).
2)Replace the Prodrive silencer with something different.
3) Replace cat back exhaust complete for something different.
