Default Replacing Rear Disc and pads

Hello everyone.


I own a Impreza STI V5 MY99 and my rear pads are shot and have probably knackered my discs so I have just brought some grooved discs and bluestuff pads from Godspeed.

I basicially have been told it is very easy to replace but I just wondered if there are any guides with photos on how to do it. Ive been told i have to slack the handbrake shoe.

Any tips I would appreciate it.

if you PM Ian at Godspeed, he will probably send you a link to a "how to" for slackening the handbrake shoes, which is done from BEHIND each wheel.

Once you have them slackened, you screw a couple of M8 x30mm bolts into the two tapped holes on the diswcs, and wind them in a bit at a time, which frees off the discs.

If they seem VERY tight, DO ensure the handbrake shoes are well slack, or it's possible to knacker the handbrake mechanism.
