Default turbo supercharger

As above,

My 09 sti sounds like it's a surcharger in boost.

I had the recirc valve off it last night could there be a loose pipe?

Does it whistle when it comes on to boost?

If it does it sounds like a boost leak.

Video clip would help?

09 plate, is it out of warrantee?

Could be a number of things, but I suspect pre turbo issue, intake pipe split, jubilee come off etc.

Any mods?

Bog standard.

Bought it on Saturday from a dealer 250mile away.
Buts got 1 month warranty swell

Everything was fine until I had the recirc off last night.

Would the pipe that goes under the recirc if it was not mega tight would that cause the whine.

Just worried about it you know.

If it didn't do it before you had the recirc valve off but does now you need to recheck all pipework around there in case you've disturbed anything and tighten up and reseat anything that's loose.

Why did you take off the recirc valve?

Sounds like it needs to go back!

Can you upload a video clip and post it on here?

Does the noise appear on blipping the throttle under no laden/boost?

A supercharger noise is apparant all the time, as it's associated with belt driven/pulleys so if that's the case with yours and you have no loss of power it may just be that the fan belt or alternator is whining( hopefully)

Was going to fit a BOV but decided against it.

Will record it at lunch. Car doesn't really feel done on power.

Just realised you revised your post I read so ignore what I said about belts etc, the recirculating is as good as it gets for the job in hand, don't bother with a Chav valve

Sounds like the hose isn't attached properly. It a bugger to get on the underside with the OEM jubilee. Make sure it's secure and that you have pulled it off the turbo intake, this would account for the sound. If the little vac pipe had come off it would hiss on idle, and chatter through gears(compressor stall)

Revised the above.... had a bad typo moment (iPad) LOL

To get everything seated properly it may be easier to take off the top mount to do it.

So it was a boost leak. There is usually a noticable holding back, and a scream like fox bein shagged by a badger.
