Default Tyre Suggestions?

Hi all,

I will be needing 4 new tyres soon (very soon lol) and would like to ask what people can recommend to me.

Standard WRX STi 17" wheels, currently on Bridgestone Potenza RE040. Noisy and man does it tramline, but treads are about 3mm on 3 tyres and about 5-7mm on one (O/S/R). I will keep the decent tyre as no need to chuck it out.

Can anyone suggest a good tyre that will suit my 07/07 Spec D? Toyo Proxes? Bridgestone?

Thanks in advance.

Uniroyal Rainsport II. Excellent all round for me. Currently have Bridgestone RE050's as they were nearly new when I purchased a cheap set of winter wheels on here. They're good but no better than say a Falken which costs half as much IMO.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3. Great in wet and dry and seem to be wearing well. Steve.

Toyo T1R tyres all round on mine and grip well. I did have Eagle F1's on my old car and must say they were mint in all weathers.

Another for Eagle F1's, mighty grip in the dry and very shore footed in the wet. Only downside were, expensive and quick wear rate if your heavy footed. Now run Falken 452's simply because there were more affordable and offer great grip, not as good as the F1's though.

Eagle F1 Assym 2, I've had mine for a year and 7000 miles, and still have around 5mm!

What are you going to be using your Spec D for? Mainly occasional fair weather road, then the best out there I've found for grip and direct feel are the Yoko AD08's

The F1 Assy's are good all round, but do suddenly let go. The Yoko's are beautifully progressive

PS3's seem to be getting good reviews. Have the PS2's at the mo and they have very good grip levels both wet & dry, They are a little more money, but they do last alot longer than most

Falken 452's here, good all-rounder on a par with many of the above, and much cheaper if you shop around, i got a set of 4 fitted for £358, they also wear well too.
