Bhp increase from japspeed tmic??
Hey all. New to the forum and to world of a turbo scooby!! Had a 1.6 impreza for around 2 years, but decided an upgrade was due. So I managed to get a 2006 hawkeye WRX, jackpot!! Like I say bit of a different animal to say the least. So I have a few questions really.... What would my cars stock bhp be? Not sure what mods have been done to her, dumpvalve is all I have noticed and sti exterior styling. But back to the original question, looking at minor power increases ATM as the car is on finance and dont want to go mad. What sort of bhp increase would I be looking at with a japspeed top mounted intercooler??
Sorry for the rant I'm just all biz lol.....

Hi there
Before you buy Japspeed TMIC I would suggest remap with decatted exhaust and you should be OK and mainly increase will be noticeable
Your current TMIC will be enough for your current turbo and beyond that.
All depends where are you located and from this you can contact mappers here, some mappers are mobile

Best to do the simple things first like Jura says mate, a decat system, air filter and remap is best thing to do as u have no idea what the previous owner has done to it before! Im in my fifth Scooby now and every time after I buy one, I always do a check on the dynos to see if it runs ok before I start modding the car!

Thanks guys. This might sound daft but wouldnt it fail an mot with a decat? I had a cobra sport cat back on my 1.6 but I quite like the nice reserved note from the prodrive on the hawkeye. Haven't got a look yet to see whether it's just a prodrive back box or more. Like I said don't wanna go mad with mods yet just a few tweeks to get a few extra horses. So would I need a remap after fitting a japspeed tmic? Oh yeah and also got my cousin to stopwatch 3 0-60 times then got the average which was a none to shabby 5.2 seconds!!! So quite a jump from my 1.6
