Any Jeep mechanics on here?
Got a jeep Grand cherokee 2.7d on a 03 plate, its currantly in my local trusted garage with a problem they are stumped on. It broke down and will start and run for 20secs or so then it stutters and cuts out, no fault codes are showing they have fitted new filter but still no joy it seems fuel related and is filled with tesco diesel, they have fed the system from a can with shell fuel to make sure it was'nt dodgy tesco fuel but still no joy any ideas???

They can be a bugger to bleed fuel through if it has air in the system and can start and cut out, I would prime the fuel system with a manual hand pump fitted in line, leave it in place and start the car and immediatly raise the revs to 2-3k rpm and hold it there for 60 seconds or so, turn the car off, then disconnect the manual pump and quickly reconnect the fuel lines and re start and hold revs at 2-3k rpm again for 60 seconds, that's how I used to bleed them when I worked at jeep and replaced fuel filters etc.
Only over things could be an injector leaking off badly but it would be a bugger to start, have the done an injector spill test?
Was a few years ago now but don't remember having many faults with pumps etc, normally injectors but like I said keep trying with bleeding the fuel system cause they can be a right pain.
