Default Leaking header tank

I have a leaking coolant header tank thought it was one of the 3 pipes that go into the top plate.Have discovered it's coming from the join where the filler pipe joins the top plate after scraping around join.Can this be solerdered around to stop leak will solder cope with the heat or is there any other solutions apart from going on ebay.cheers

You might get someone to braze it, depends on the metal and it's condition.
Soft soldering isn't good enough.

The problem is, you'll need someone pretty old school, most garages these days don't repair, they throw away and replace with new.

I looked at repairing mine as i had the exact same problem, in the end i thought it would probably just look rubish and spoil the look of my engine bay so just bought the newer plastic tank which has now replaced the metal one.
