Default Which panel filter ?

I'm thinking of changing my panel filter, i have a green panel at the moment and I know they are lifers but it looks a bit sad for itself now and been on the car for quite a number of years now. I would rather just get a new one than start cleaning it again and oiling it. Which one would you recommend? Cosworth, green panel , k&n, hks, genuine Subaru????

Cheers
Grant

I,ve used K+N panel filters for the last 11 years on the 5 Scoobs I have owned. I now have a K+N Typhoon induction kit. Would recommend K+N. Steve.

Try Do Luck, a magazine test found it gives the most power.

K & N for me I'am afraid ,I bought my 1st one when I had a 3dr ford RS Cosworth back in 1990 and have had one on every car I have bought since performance or not.
The reoiling/cleaning kit when used correctly brings the filter back to 'brand new' status ,meaning there is no need to ever buy a new one.I have had bought well over 25 k&n's over the yrs and never had a problem.

Cheers guys great advice, interesting to hear no one mentions the green Cotton panel filter, always thought they were popular. May go k&n now I think.

What BHP have you got Steve ? I was thinking about getting a good induction kit for mine but was told anything under 400 BHP wouldn't get the benefit.

Cosworth are also good. Helped me to get 336 bhp from first mods in a 2005 STi.

My car is a MY 05 JDM STI,decatted with 3 port boost solenoid and remapped . When rolling roaded at standard boost it gave 348 brake. It is now running 1.5 Bar boost so maybe 360 ish. I think that you may get a few extra horses out of the induction kit but it sounds and looks much better than with the standard airbox. Steve.

Can't fault the Cosworth panel filter. Mine's been mapped using one and with a few other mods it's knocking out 400BHP. The Do-Luck panel gets a good write up as well
