Default Nice Bargain on Camskill!

Just ordered 2 Toyo Proxy tyres for the WRX, £75 a corner, I don't think that's bad at all!

Anyone got any experience with the Toyo's? This will be the first time I haven't bought Bridgestone Potenza's

I was looking at Toyo's T1R for my scoob. I've had Avons previously and thought they were very good. I'd be interested to know what you think when you've had them fitted and scrubbed in.

T1R's are easily the best tyre I've had on an Impreza. They are a soft compound tyre so won't last as long as other brands but the grip in the dry is fantastic.
At £75 a corner I'm tempted myself...!! Currently using Eagle F1's as they came on my current wheels but they are not a patch on the Toyo's..

In what way chap ?

Genuinely interested as I found them truley awesome in the dry. Not great in the wet and their life isn't the longest but can't see how anybody can knock their grip level in dry weather.

Was waiting for this , lol. had toyos on me v3, their ok in dry, but wet was
.... I then bought yokos paradas spec 2's , even worse in the wet, but in the dry . it felt like semi slicks on a hot day, only downside is that their side wall is as not as stiff... so you have to be aware the rear end can snap! But for the money i wouldn't go other way. Got bridgestones 50's for wet/colder days and yokos for summer sprints. Even on the track day the way the yokos ***** was unbelieveble. Inside the tyre , not as usual side walls ... I would recomend them as a track day budget tyre also... Was doing a research on allrounders and stoped on Hankook ventus s1 evo. Every single test i've read , everyone was praising them. The best part was EVO mag , as they test them on audi s3 4wd, so i think that would soute impreza also.

Just my 2p worth

i had them on mine and wouldnt use them again,

great in the dry but as soon as i get the the main roudabout 2mins from my house even in dampness the back end used to step out at 20mph,not gd when i have the kids in the car,
had eagle f1 and loved them, used another few brands but the ones on mine now and will be getting fitted to my new wheels are Falken FK452. cracking tyre, great in dry and superb in wet, same roundabout in the rain and 50+ and the back end doesnt step out.

ive used them for a few 1/4 mile days and still got over 10k out of them as a daily driver.

wont use anything else now and a lot of guys in my local club use falkens fk452 and swear by them

I've had the following sets over the years on my scoobs:

4 sets of Goodyears Eagle F1's GSD3, First three sets were awesum. very, very good in the dry, good in the wet but very poor in the snow, Lasted well used to get 17-20K out of a set.
The last set was a real let down, I think they had changed factory and the compound has also changed. Just didn't feel right in the wet like they used to. Last only around 13K and decided to swap to another make.

Toyo T1R's, Took ages to scrub in, a good 2,000 miles instead of the normal 300'ish miles (they stayed very greasy and unsettled the car) were OKAY in the dry, very bad in rain and lethal in standing water. Didn't get to drive them in the snow. Lasted only 11K miles.

Dunlop Sp Sport Max. These are the second best tyres I've tried. Outstanding in the dry and superb in the wet. Also very good in the snow, Lasted around 15k

Current tyres are: Conti Sport Contact 3. The best tyre I've tried. They outperform the Dunlop's in all aspects but are pricey, These have only last 11K but that's not bad considering the car there on.

T1R's were crap on my Newage, but great on my Fiesta ST.

Vredesteins are the best i've had so far on the Impreza.

Not had T1Rs on the Subaru, but on other cars I have found the sidewalls to be too soft on heavier cars, Fine on the Mrs Fiesta.
