Question Oil pressure - what's yours?

Hi,

Just wondering if my oil pressure is healthy.

While ticking over @ 900rpm, 85 degrees C, 2bar (approx 30psi) - This is while running 15w50 oil

What's your like?

Oil is Millers 10W40,
Idles at 1K when warm.
Warmed up temps are between 85 and 90

Cold start pressure is circa 7 bar
Warm idle pressure is circa 3.5 bar
crushing pressure is circa 6 bar.

Do you top up based on your pressures then rather than using the rubbish impreza dipstick?
(was considering an oil pressure gauge -getting through oil and don't trust the dipstick)

Is the pressure value itself useful or more so the change in value for your particular engine/build/mods/uses etc?
(sorry sort of a hijack but fits into the topic)

Just under 3 bar(40psi) on hot idle 85c at 700rpm(Silkoline/Fuchs titan 10/50)

You can't top up your car depending on what pressure you have, You HAVE to go by the dipstick.

Gauge for pressure dip stick for level. You need to use both to avail engine damage.
