immobiliser problems
hi guys just a question, has anyone had a problem the key fob not turning off the immobiliser only in certain areas. i was outside my cricket ground and i couldnt get my immobiliser off i had to push the car down the road and then all was fine i had the rac out and they just reckon something in the area could be over powering my alarm system

I had the same issue with my 2001 bugyeye when I first got it, the immobiliser was being blocked, so I had to buy the protective custom sleeve that goes around the immobiliser within the engine bay from subaru, no problems since. It is a known issue with subaru on certain systems I think.

if its a sigma alarm on a circa 10 year is old model then yes its a common problem.
I believe modern ones are better as they use a different frequency or something. Maybe its a problem with all kinds I'm not sure.
There was a fix for the sigma that was some sort of metal shield for the unit.
On mine there is a keypad in the glovebox that you can use to manually disarm the system in this situation, once you have opened the car with the key and assuming you know the code of course.
About 1 in 50 times locking my car on the drive the clown sigma rings wireless doorbell and makes it play yankie doodle FFS!
