Default Coilovers

How much are coilovers? And how much
Does it roughly cost for fitting. If I got coilovers
Would I still need shocks and drop links?
Or do coilovers do the job on there own

It all depends on what your using the car for ,

If you replaced your original shocks and springs with coilovers there is no need for other shocks ..

You drop links are connected to your anti roll bars so they shouldn't need replacing unless they are worn .

Cost depends on brand etc , the b.c coilovers are good quality and value for money , probably between 850-1150 fully fitted and set up including parts depending on who you go to ..

hope that helps a little

is your comment in relation to the quality of racelines, as I found them ok on my bug and decent enough for a budget coilover, not many people have money or BCs these days, luckily I have a god job and can afford them

What car do you have ?
What do you hope to gain ?
What's your budget ?

All I will say,
If your on a tight budget and looking at coilovers in the £300/400 brand new I wouldn't bother.
What about a set of STI suspension ?

Thanks to all replies, yeh does help alot guys.
I just use can on general roads, ( however) living on idle of wight
Means lots of small country roads and tight bends
I got over taken last week by a fiesta on bendy roads
Because my scoob was slipping on bends and felt
Unsafe to corner fast would struts sort that out?

Did the car feel unsettled? Or just that it was slipping? What tyres do you have? Might be worth looking at them first before you spend money on something as drastic as coilovers

Get a set of new KYB shocks and some eibach/prodrive lowering springs + a set of camber adjustment bolts from whiteline (about £20), get a proper fast road geometry setup done on the above

This will give you the grip you want + keep you compliant enough for the bumpy lanes,

Coilovers are more suited to flat smooth surfaces / good condition A-roads *(fewer of these in the UK these days) on which good quality ones are superior.

+1 what matt said about tyres too

You can have the best suspension setup going but if your tyres are sh1te and the road is even remotely damp your screwed.

Lol good point I dont think white walled tyres would suit a Scoob!

I've just gone back to Bridgestone Potenza RE050-A after running through a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetricos. Pretty good tyre wet and dry but didnt like the squishy sidewalls and the funny handling characteristics that went with it. The Assymetrico 2s are supposed to be better but I didnt want to risk it as theres no "try before you buy" with tyres.

A lot of Scooby people seem to rave about the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas - not sure about the tread pattern myself - the grooves dont continue to the edge of the tyre so not sure how good water dispersal would be.

Tyres are really personal preference try to stay ontop of a couple of independent review sites and only pay attention to tyres that are tested in the size/weight that your going to
Use,
I use goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2's

There are plenty of other decent tyres out there too. Alot of guys o
Here use toyo tr1s etc

For me the falken 452 are better than both of the above on classic and newage.

As said above, only look at reviews with the exact tyre your after and even on the same car, as i have found everything changes dependant upon vehicle and wheel size.

No mention of what handling mods you have, as a bare minimum you need anti lift kit, solid rear drop links and a stiffer rear antiroll bar, then a corner weighted lazer geometry set up by someone that knows scoobs.

And some driving lessons by the sounds of it, fiesta looooooooool.
