2005 - The year
STI - The model, which is the higher better spec than a wrx.
PPP - Prodrive performance pack - Ups horse power to 305bhp.
Blob eye refers to the style of headlights used, first came the bugeye, then the blobeye then the hawkeye. All 3 of which are known as the newage subarus.

Just that the "Version..." nomenclature officially ended with the Classic at "Version VI" (6). Plus it was only reserved for STi variants.
That said - and despite it being 'wrong' form a purist POV - it can be 'convenient' to simply refer to the Newages as:-
Bug = 'version 7'
Blob = 'version 8'
Hawk = 'version 9'
Hatch = 'version 10' (although people just seem to gravitate to "hatch").
I'm sure Tony Burns will happily back me up on this lol.

It goes by year, but there are too many differences now, for example, the widetrack blob US version was a 2.5ltr, everywhere else it was a 2ltr.
Its the main reasons versions were dropped, too many different versions altogether

But yeah, I 'hate' "version" being employed to describe New Ages as I'm very much a purist.
Hell, I even wish the most popular form of Poker was still the original 5 Card Draw - just like in the westerns lol. (Rather than today's Texas Hold'Em) lol

Good God Almighty, this guy's being well and truly confused.
All over the world the Model Year 2005 STI was a wide track vehicle, which was also given a number of other suspension updates.
