Just got myself my first STI 1996 import [project]
as title got myself a sti has big end failure but got lots of mods im big on imprezas and last week got a twin turbo legacy with the intention of transplanting it into a lightweight shell and modding decided against it as i can sell legacy to fund more of my modding idears

Insurance companies know as much about Imprezas as my wife mate.
On the vin plate will be a 'applied model code', type that code into this site and it will tell you what your car is.
It doesn't look like an STI to me that's all mate,

Insurance companies know as much about Imprezas as my wife mate.

gc8c48d is a WRX buddy.
DVLA have probably got the wrong info when imported. Id let them and the insurance know as you may save a few quid if you change it to a WRX.

Unless there wrong mate same engine and box as the version 2 sti, runs td05 turbo and Z4 Ecu almost and sti kind of like the half brother was brought out just before the full sti production car! Was a modified production Wrx between the end of 95 and 96

thanks has loads stuff you can plug into it at the back diff preasure and that i like it il try find out how to work it this car has a sunroof first scoob ive had with this if its nothing special might break it wanted sti dam insurence companies quote was 2400 to the guy a got fi must been stupidnot to change
