Exactly mate
Anyone else looking to buy a 2 grand impreza for a weekend car, please form an orderly line No one joining it, i wonder why
I could assume the op is looking for a track toy for his weekend toy and looking to spend a few quid putting it right Indeed if that is the case, he might have posted that in the first place
Its not for me to assume anything.

All he was trying to say is, that for 2k you'll get a shed ......or a good one that needs some work to be done, and you'll get 3.5k in the end. So why don't you stop being a cheeky monkey and describe your needs more acurately, so people could give you an advice. Now it looks like you want us to find you a car.
Pistonheads, autotrader, traders/member section on here are full of cars. have a look.

2K will get you either a early/mid nineties WRX with high mileage or a late nineties UKturbo with again, higher than average miles or worse still, on the register. Rust will be inevitable or at least the beginnings of it.
There are some bargains out there to be had from time to time but not many, keep your eyes peeled and wait for the right car. Rushing in will be a mistake as you will no doubt end up with a money pit. 2K won't get you much of an Impreza to be honest, and unless you can afford to spend the money when/if things go bad them maybe you should consider saving a bit more dollar and buying a better car to begin with.
Good luck with your search and feel free to post any links up of cara for us to look at.
Personally I'd leave the one in your link alone, 120K is not ideal on an old jap imported Impreza.

I personally think that's a lot of car for under 2k
Plus the guy selling it obviously knows his stuff unlike the usual trashy bull crap adds.
Less than average mileage for age....and as for rust if its been looked after garaged for best part of its life it will be fine.
Nice to see a standard car in good condition.

I picked my 99 UK wagon up for £1400, £1500 with 6 months tax. That was sub 100k and totally standard and looked after. For just over £2k, I'd bought and fitted the necessary mods including a Bob Rawle remap. My £2.2k saw me with a base car, above mods/remap and 284bhp/317lbft.
I wasn't exactly searching long and hard either.

Sorry, but craigo is the one on his ******* period here, the guy asked a valid question as far as I'm concerned - and yes, there's plenty of decent ones about for a couple of grand, infancy I've seen some pretty damn good ones for that! Too many arsey know it alls on this site, it's like some weird clicky golf club.
