Default Bc coilovers I hear a knock

Hi,
Iv had some new bc coilovers fitted about 3 months ago an I hear a knock when I decelerate or reverse could it be the inserts? Its on the rear the noise is coming from!
I thought it was the caliper making a noise but iv had them checked an they are fine.

HELP

Yeah it's a comman thing, mine also knock mainly on the rear. It's to do with the solid pillow ball mounts I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong). It's nothing to worry about if it is that, just annoying. I believe BC made rubber mounts in the later models to stop the knocking. Talk to Bren at Apex performance, he knows the ins and outs of them.

You should be able to buy the rubber revised version mount from apex in Bradford

i had a similar problem when i fitted some in february.

fine for a few weeks the started knocking, jack the car up and reset the preload.

i think the springs had compressed a little with the weight of the car and had become slightly loose between the locking nuts on the struts and knocked slightly under braking or acceleration.

once i reset the preload they have been fine.

it applies to most coilovers if you get adjustable camber inserts for the topmounts you will eliminate the knok and make car more desirable have a look in the for sale section there no dear but may need a 4 wheel alignment
