Well I wouldnt want to run that much power through a 2.5 without upgrading the internals, also the 2.5's are known to use oil, but there could be a more sinister element at work here, over the 10 months how many miles have you done?

Tony

PS, my JDM 2ltr used no oil the joys of 2ltr's

7k miles, thats a little over .5ltr per 1k miles, its highish but not excessive, having your engine tuned that high wont help it tbh, I would suggest either remapping to a safer limit but chances are any damage is already done, or replace the pistons.
At the moment its best to keep an eye on the oil consumption to make sure it doesnt get any worse.

I have a 2.0 STI and mine uses oil, Not had it long enough to really measure the amount but its more that my last few cars, I'm running 360bhp and with forged pistons.

I was told buy the last owner it used a little oil due to smaller pistons?

Its never really worried me to be fair, dont think i'm using as much as you though.

My 2 litre 2005 sti short motor also burns no oil in my classic, 2.5's tend to use more oil for some reason.

My 2.5 uses hardly any oil. I'm told its how there run in that determines whether they become oil burners.

Looser cold tolerances to allow for the expansion of forged pistons.

Well the engine is out being forged as we speak but prior to this the only mods were.
Turbo back japspeed exhaust and 100 cell sport cat.
K&N panel filter
3 port boost solenoid
Ecutek racerom remap.

The only oil it ever used was the very occasional splash. Run on Fuch 5-40 fully synth.

My forged 2.5 with a known exhaust valve stem oil leak uses only minimal oil, needs a top up every 1000 miles or so of about 1/2 a litre
