cheers
cheers
I just googled it,found a defi install guide on nosioc think that's what it's called,I followed that when fitting my oil temp, pressure and boost prosport gauges and they all worked first time my car is a jdm sti bug I used the clock harness for the wiring everything you need is there power wise took me a couple of hours..
Trending Topics
i have prosport electronic steppers fitted to mine, take the oil temp from top of cylinder 3 and the pressure from under the alternator.
what exactly do you want to know??
im at home till 7pm and the car is outside so i can take pictures if needed

black earth
orange illumination
white ignition live 12v i.e. live only on ignition.
the sender fits under the alternator, i used an extension piece to make fitment easier.
this is where it fits, this is the hole for the oil light sender on the dash

i fitted this as the top connection is the original oil light so that still works and the lower one is the sender for the gauge
you have mechanical guages by the looks of it mine are electronic.
possibly needs a fitting adaptor to get thread size correct.
could be just green wire as red would be 12v black earth and orange illumination.

black earth
white is the switchable 12v
orange illumination.
but if you dont have peak warning ones i doubt they would have the need for 2 12v as the only reason it has a constant and switchable 12v is for the memory for the peak warning settings.
i would say your wiring sounds right.

The senders that come with the normal (non stepper) prosport gauges are utter sh1te mate, especially the ones that only have one wire going to them.
Sit in the car and get a mate to tap the sender while you watch the gauge. If it jumps about all over the place then I'd guess you have a dodgey sender.
The senders that come with the stepper gauges are far better,
I have 3 stepper gauges in my car for oil pressure, temp and boost.
I also have 2 non steppers for volts and fuel pressure. I often get strange readings from my fuel pressure gauge, I know it's the sender as I also have an inline FP gauge under the bonnet which gives an accurate and constant reading.

You can't buy the senders like the steppers have because they use 3 wires and your gauge only has one wire which goes to the sender.
You can buy senders off eBay and the like, I'd recommend getting one which accepts the feed from your gauge and also takes an earth.
Also, any spare unused wires from your gauge want putting down to earth.
Make sure you have a good earth from your gauge as sometimes a crappy earth can bring you problems.
