Talking NEWBIE...re map???

hey guys,

im kind of a regular reader, but not posted to much as my Wagon has been off the road due to HG popping

had the lump out and done the job my self for the fun and to save pennies ( Ken Gilbert online mannuals, and a step by step gid off here where a great help)

ive had heads fully cleaned and re faced, new cossie gaskets, new head bolts, all fluids and filters changed, also done disks and pads, plugs and leads now shes back together and running again

im looking at getting a re map done, i know its been mapped in the past, (TD05 Turbro, fuel pump, DV, 3port boost sol, full de-cat turbo back) but not sure who by or when it was last mapped tho...will this matter?

so how do i find out what map it has and will any mapper be happy mapping it for me not knowing its history?
i have a P reg (96) UK Turbo 2000, anyone recomened a mapper in the DEVON area...sorry for the long post

Thanks in advance
Damon

Your OEM 380cc injectors and tiny TMIC will limit to about 280bhp and slightly less torque. My old MY93 made 282/273, as an example.

But the turbo would otherwise max out anywhwere between c.320-350.

In that case, happy days.

But the 440s, in practice, max between 325-340 odd. But at least it's much nearer the turbo's capability...

But I hope you're going in with your eyes wide open, as regards potential longevity of the motor/'box?

anything near or above 300 ill be more than happy with
i also have £4500 of of paper work from Grahem Goode for full engine rebuild and a comprhensize service history and supporting paper work so HOPEFULLY the motor will hold up for a while yet as is only done 15000 since the re build,

cheers again guys, never fail to get an answer of SN member, great bunch of guys
