Default Simtek or ecutek

Hi guys , if money wasnt so much of an issue, what would you go for, a simtek remap or an ecutek remap. my knowledge is minimal on these matters so would value anyone's opinions ..Does one bare a greater advantage over the other one or does it depend on your goals? Thanks

Depends on what car you have, what mod level you're at and intending to move to and what functionality you want.

You do know that a simtek isn't just a remap, it's a compete new ecu. If money isn't an issue then with the new update to the simtek or whatever it's called now it would have to be that over an ecutek.
Ability to run maffless for me is the biggest advantage, if I remember right there are some cold start issues and a few other little features but I think most are sorted now

In the context of what the OP has put how can you say that?

Just because money is no object, you'd be a fool to buy something you don't actually need and unless we appreciate the needs and application of the OP, you're fisting your own **** in the dark.

We had a customer in this week asking the same question with reference to his V5 STi.
With his specific set of circumstances, we came to the conclusion that an Ecutek remap would better suit his needs, so that's what we're doing.

Alan, just read the latest column of yours in Total Impreza. Best one yet Sir and made me smile and nod all the way through. (first drink of 1/2l oil in my car after 4,000miles. BTW just to prove how good your engines are.....).

I am very impressed with the functions of the ECUTEK remap, especially the RACEROM version I have.

If money was no object I would still take the advice of a mapper as its no good having something not needed for what you want to achieve from the car
