Surely Not ????? Can it be.........
Guys,
Post on here to get some views from guys/gals in the know, as previous advice and by opening up the topic has been very useful.
Now had my fab Sti for over a year. When I got my insurance I only owned the baby for 3 months and got £660 insurance from SKY. But now having owned the car for 15 months and during this time gained an extra year on my age, another year with no claim how on earth can the insurance go from £660 to £960......one hell of an increase!
Is owning a Scooby getting that hard to maintain..............
Come on SKY insurance surely your pulling my leg and its all just a wind up!!!!

Hi Rob - hows things mate?
Amazed mate that SKY's price has increased so much, especially given I'm a further year of ownership of car and a further year fault free. Was directline pretty good to deal with considering all the mods u have mate?

It's also true that a lot of companies screw their existing customers. Watchdog revealed that if existing customers attempted to get a quote as a new customer, they got much lower premiums than their renewals!
Thankfully I have Moley to sort my insurance Someone who always priortises exiting customers.

Was listening to radio 2 (don't take the pi$$, pop quiz is good), the other morning and they had their financial guru on. He was saying that people should change insurance companies EVERY year as its the only way to get the best deal. Insurance companies reward new customers far better than loyal customers.

Insurance is a joke. Was insured with the post office last year for £800 this year they wanted nearly £1200! I then went on a comparison site and best quote was again the post office for £800. When I phoned them up and asked them why they told me that that price was for new customers only so I would have to pay the £1200 so I changed company they made no effort to try and get me to stay with them

"moley moley moley" thats all I hear on snet! I spoke to this guy last week and when I told him I live in brum he refused to quote me. No reason given just that we don't quote for Birmingham, ok I thought it's only the second largest city and home to uk's motor industry. These jokers think all Subaru owners live in in landsend or John o groats! Anyway Aplan are way cooler and offered a nice deal!

Pretty good thanks Mate, How's things with yourself ?
Directline came back at £404 but I got 2 months free on there offer they were running, 11 yrs ncb. secure postcode. tracker etc etc
They will do for 12 months as I expect it to go up massively next year, more of a technique to get my business I reckon

That is unreal!!!!!! Is their no TCF or anything with these companies - how on earth does a new customer get it £400 cheaper than someone who is already with them

I'd been with directline for 5 years, when I changed from a wrx wagon to an sti they wanted £1100 instead of £500. I shopped around and Moley quoted me £600, rang directline back to cancel with them and they dropped it to £550. I still cancelled with them as I had asked them if the £1100 was there best offer and they insisted it was, also Moley doesnt need a tracker fitted to cover it from theft.

Whats the name of the standard alarm on hatch Sti's mate and is it a tracker also (i get a txt if alarm goes off)?
