Default Torque settings

morning all, please would someone point me the right way to finding out the torque settings of the bolts for my engine its a 98 type r, as auto data only lists the uk models

Most of them are the same on all subaru EJ20, only differences are on the con rods, if you do a search on the 2004 sti manwells you wii find almost everything you need, and some good guides on utube.

If you get stuck try posting exactly what you want in general tech.

so if i have the print out from auto data on the ej205 engine from a uk spec turbo2000 these settings should be right apart from the rods?

Not sure on that as i haven't seen it but like i said, do the search, it's easy enough to find in tech archive.

what rods are you using and are you doing a rebuild or something else.

the short block was built by someone called willihams motorsport and he used i beam rods.
all i really need is the torque settings for the headbolts turbo bolts and all things apart from the short motor which is assembled

Hi Guy, As said above the uk data is correct for what you need.

Can't remember off the top of my head, but there is a sequence to tightening the heads so as to compress the gaskets correctly and it's in the 2004 manuel just need 2x good quality torque wrenches, also when doing the cam covers don't over tighten, as many have found that the factory torque settings sheer the bolts so be careful.
