Today we've been mostly...
Tinkering with the bloody Scoob!
Me and Jeff (alcazar) did a few jobs today whilst she's off the road awaiting lambda issues to be sorted.
My bumper bar was rotten so this was due a swap to a used one I'd sourced off here and sprayed up. But my radiator decided to start leaking a couple days ago so this was replaced too. Oh and for good measure a coolant change was done as the old stuff was bloody MANKY
The car in pieces...
I did chisel off some of the rotten heat shielding from the headers as it loooked as though it'd start rattling sooner than later.
Now that bumper bar... it was a bit rotten. Here's the old one how it came off next to its replacement, with Jeffs finger pointing out the obvious
Just got the rear one to do now which I think is worse!
As always a big thanks to Jeff for helping when he didn't have to ( I was unsure about this as I've never taken the front end of a Scoobaru off before). It shows the community spirit is still alive and kicking
Sorry, that's as exciting as it gets. Only a few bruises and cuts to report

You must have bought a right sh1tter, if it was that rusty!
Your heat shield will probably start rattling now, Andy. Around the bottom of the up-pipe.

Not that it makes much difference as the engine components look rusty/corroded as well, but the car is making good power, with excellent torque.
What are the rear wheel arches like ?

His rear arches have some rust coming through on the n/s and nothing showing on the o/s.
The bit he missed out was that we DIDN'T notice that the support bar was from a model with no fogs, and the fogs fouled the new one, so we (Andy) had to use an angle grinder and cutting disc to remove parts of the brackets with the support bar already bolted in.
The cut edge and the small amounts of front rust got sprayed by me with galvanising spray.
the engine compartment LOOKS rusty, but apart from some bolts and brackets, isn't. Most of what LOOKS like rust is down to rust from this bumper, we think, sticking to the sticky waxy stuff sprayed all over the engine.
He now needs some 8mm and a couple of 6mm clips, which disappeared into who knows where, and I only had 10mm with one 8mm in stock.
Andy thinks the rear is harder..........no chance, the bolts are easy to get at when underneath and the clips are mostly visible, and off she comes.
And if you do shear off rhe bolts well he has a new support bar for there too, and our friendly stockist will supply new bolts. Which, if I have owt to do with it, will be stainless
