1. Skim heads
2. If necessary skim block (usually not required)
3. Port and polish heads, but at least completely clean and check for cracks, exchange valves, valvestems etc. as required
4. Use ARP studs (they seem to work for me)
5. Use Cosworth head gaskets (again, seems to be proven by several other engines).
6. Check the block, crankshaft, definitely change the crank bearings, check pistons (I have had Forged STI piston crack).
7. Only use factory piston rings (even with Cosworth pistons).

So far these are the things that come to mind... Hope some advice helps...

Cheers,

R.

www.enginetuner.co.uk

Alan proven to have great prices, just tell him that the Hungarian guy sent you, he might remember, since I have had deals with him before and I assume not many Hungarian customers are around.

He might also do the engineering works for you, but as for skimming, port and polish etc. I have dealt with Roger Clark Motorsport.

Cheers,

R.

If you had a bearing failure you need a new crank, oil modine, oil pump, and water pump is also recommended, you can get everything you need from scooby clinic, engine tuner, API, latteral performance to name a few.

You will also need a full gasket set and oil seals, some do a full rebuild kit for around the £400 mark.

i'd fit a new clutch while the engine is out, and consider a lightened flywheel as well, send all the bits to engine tuner and they will balance it for you too.

The best thing you can do is have a chat with a few tuners, decide what speck your going for and who will do the machine work for you.

It's not difficult but it does need to be done correctly.

Good luck.
