Default The project begins :)

i pulled my car into the garage for the last time in whats will be a few months im guessing.
this is the first time i will be doing anything like this but have to do it myself as i cannot afford the labour let alone the parts but here goes.
i have taken all the bits off i can for now as a friend is coming over at the weeekend too help/advise me on taking the engine out and stripping it down, thankfully someone this morning posted a link to disassemble the block which will be used im sure!
so at the weekend when we strip it all we will know the full extent of the damage caused to the bottom end then decide what to do (in budget) to fix it.
there is a place called lateral performance very close to me at pocklington and i was advised to give them a call for parts etc, are they heard of?
i will post a few pics of what i have done so far and keep the thread updated if anyone is interested in reading! or boring them selfs but the biggest job i have done is fitting brakes so this should be a challange

lateral performance are widely used on here & highly regarded, but so are API impreza & Alan Jeffery. Good Luck with it
also import car parts are good for parts, try to get genuine or ones that have been modified &/or approved by the above names, that way you will be getting a much better, reliable build.

on my current scoob & previous i have used David @ Api for parts, very helpfull guy

my best friends dad is a genius in the garage & he does the majority & i assist & learn!
1st scoob was a re build with bottom end failure consisting of many parts from Api after recomendations, current scoob was a replacement short block which i sourced through David @ Api & i bought one of his modified oil pumps & he fitted it FOC to the block ready for me to take it which was good of him.
