Question

Hi all,

I know they list it at the gentleman's agreement in Japan at 276 bhp; however, is that the actual BHP or is it closer to 300 ???

I have heard stories that it is around 300 and can reach as high as 320 but I think that is just bs ??

Thoughts please.....any dyno'd Jpn spec STI 7 links out there ???

Thanks guys,

Ray

PS: Looking top get my 1500 kms oil change tomorrow.....can't wait, 6.5 rpms here I come, (I took it to 5,500 rpms today for the first time and I could not believe the pull when the turbo REALLY kicked in smile is permanent, now I know why I bought the car......I mean the lag is pretty severe as I would say the turbo does not really kick in fully until about 4,300 rpms......but I think that is becuase it only has 1500 kms on it, as most would agree my car has at least another 10,000 kms before she is hitting peak and I would imagine that the lag will become less and less the more broken in she gets, probably hitting a best of around 3,600 rpms for the full KICK feel I get now at around 4,300 rpms.... Finally, I would like to say that this car is amazing and that first time feel of the full turbo kicking in tonight was amazing

According to my old mukka Phil the old bug eyed STI7 pulls out an obscene 390 bhp. HE actually imports these cars so if you fancy one of these little gems(or a Sport?) then give us a tinkle! Think he charges around 34 grand for one of these. Think of the savings compared to UK prices-around 4 grand. What a guy eh? First come first served by the way

Glad to help POPS

Razor,

I think it is and has always been a falicy that STi's have a "real" 300bhp and it's more like the quoted figure. I think that *some* UK cars have come out of the factory with a little more than 215bhp, but in general, the figures gained at various rolling road sessions that I've been too tend to imply that the quoted figures are accurate.

Popeye, can I cancel my STi7 and order one of these 7000bhp Impreza Sport's that you've got???

Yep rumours that the last of the old STI had about 300PS (295bhp) rather than teh quoted 280PS (276bhp). Dont know about the new age STI 1 though

OK.

Mine's on the rollers in factory trim within the next 14 days for some comparative/baseline figures so that we can compare figures with on our performance upgrade packs.

I'll post back on here (if can find the thread by then) when I've got some figures. They won't tell the whole story, as my car is a JDM model.
