Default Nice car with good MPG?

Hi

As above looking for a decent cat to drive with decent MPG. It doesnt have to be amazing but high 30s -40s would be good if the car fits the bill in the looks, performance department and cost. Got max £6.5k to spend and want something that look half decent. If you have any suggestions it would be good to hear them.

Cheers

Civic Type S GT 2.2CDTi, good all round car, but lacking in performance.

£115 a year tax and I average 50mpg in mine.

Economy
Quality
Comfort
Looks
Performance =

2003>AUDI A4 TDI QUATTRO 1.9TDI / 2.0TDI 6 SPEED (S-Line)

Or if you want all the above minus the economy go for a BMW X5

MK Golf GTI, that's what I went for in the end.

Solid, reliable car, does everything w want it to- is no slouch and still returns 35mpg.
