I'm very intrigued on this one, as your is a very similar spec to mine, except mine will have forged internals and full bottom end rebuild when i get it back.
I had thought mine would be circa 9k-9.5k, the extra £1k on the price tag is about right for the £2500 extra in Receipts.
I have seen standard(ish) 05 STi's up for £10k+ on a dealer forecourt and £9k privately with no rebuild or power mods, so it really does come down to finding the right buyer for your car.

'Parkers' guide says £5670 in a 'good' standard condition for a private sale. I know they tend to be low but bearing in mind the mods buyers would probably expect to be able to get it for around £6.5k

Parkers is useless for cars like these anyway, plus it doesnt even realise that the 05 STi has a completely different spec to the 03 and 04 cars, and hence bigger price tag... I paid £7200 for mine a year and a half ago, and tbh that was the cheapest 05 STi for sale online anywhere! They guy had taken it is as a P/X against an RS4, didnt know what he had, and compared it to the prices of the 03 cars and added a bit on... Winner for me!!

This sounds all too familiar... i put it up for sale last February for £8995, two weeks after that it goes pop... spent £2k sorting out the bodywork whilst its been off the road and finally got around to the £4k rebuilt and engine upgrades and shall be back on the road soon... but same, wont give it away, no point.
