I think all that weight will do your laptimes no favours at all .

What about some tape for your lights etc?.

Cough up for full recovery insurance just in case you break something serious or fall off.

You've got it covered from the consumables point of view though... I didn't see new sump plug washers on the list though

Cheers,

Alex

Cool

Right,

after a long and protracted meeting with Paul W earlier this evening we're planning to put a spares pack together for the 'Ring trip to cover consumables and esentials, in case recues are required!

Right we're looking for help here, both on the supply and carriage front...so comments and offers gratefully received

Our current plan was to try and bring the following spares in my car:

10 litres of oil
2 Oil filters
4 Spark plugs
ITG Air Filter oil
5 litres of coolant/antifreeze
2 litres of brake fluid
Spare Airfilter (std)
2 sets of used S/S brembo kit disks
2 sets of used Brembo caliper brake pads
2 sets of used rear pads (UK98)
UK98 Used front disks
UK98 used front pads
1 set of new front pads for Brembo calipers
4 wheels and worn tyres
10 bottles of octane booster

On the tools front we're also going to try and get in:

1 Trolley jack
2 Axle Stands
1 Sump pan
Torque wrench
Socket Set
Assorted screwdrivers, pliers, grips and other tools
Mini aircompressor / tyre inflator (*** lighter driven thingy)

I think we had had one too many when we thought about a gen set, angle grinder, mig welder and an aircompressor...although , then again...

Comments? Offers of help?

Cheers,

Tim / Slooby

Alex, weight and me go together but, I doubt I'll venture on to the 'ring with a boot load handling let alone performance might be a tad...off...

Gaffer tape is a standard part of my tool kit...

IM/Mondial are pan European , so hopefully covered there...checking the insurance tomorrow

Sump plug washers! Good point

Come on peeps keep 'em coming

Tim,

I never go anywhere without a pack of baby-wipes. Nothing worse than having your hands covered in grease/brake dust etc. after doing a road/track side repair.

Another one to think of is some spare vacuum hose. Some of the Scooby hoses get brittle and stiff. Wouldn't want to spoil the day just for a split hose.

For those with IC sprays/Water injection. Big (5 ltr) water bottles.

Assorted cable ties is the biggy. Got me out of a few scrapes in the past

Cheers

Ian

Arr, the engineers best friend - for the those "hmmm, best bodge it" moments.

Back on topic, what about some screen wash? I've got some magic stuff called Grime Shifter - works a treat on messy windscreens.

Chris.

Tim,

A lump hammer and some Tank Tape! Seriously, those two items are going to be in my goody bag! Just incase an Armco receives a visit, and bodywork needs to be held away from the wheels etc!

Oh, and get Wilson some Head and Shoulders!

Hammer is in the pack already...acquiring Gaffa tape as we speak...

I was assuming there would be taps to fill up with water on site, but some screenwash concentrate is a good idea.

I'll be bringing barrier creame and some Deb to clean hands, and make wahing them easier.

Matt, we'll just get Paul shorn before we go, otherwise an overworked vet might get confused and have him put down...or the French farmers will set fire to him

Tim,

Sounds like you need a support vechical!

What about a black van, with a big red strip up it!!

All you need is a MIG welder, duct tape, a mohawk, and lot's of gold jewellery!!!

Oh and a good (but mad) pilot to fly your out of tricky situations! Some M16's would be handy too!!!

Red face

the spares department at westfield would be quite handy.

hows about some spare tyres too? I will be taking 2 of my old still legal (just) tyres along in case i cut/wear out the ones on the car.

I have different front/rear tyres so have an issue there, you guys have a space saver, not much fun on the ring i would imagine.

John, I was planning to take a spare pair of tyres...maybe even 4...S02's that I have in my shed they have between 3 and 2 mm of tread left, so at least a get me home job, or oooh too much wear on my good S02's

What do you need for the westie, I'm carrying your pit crew

Planning on bringing 9.5 litres of Motul 300V (5W40 or 15W50 can't decide which would be better for Slooby)...

Ian, stuff can be stored, just by leaving it on the ground where we park up, with so many of us going the chances of us all being on the ring at the same time is, well, remote.

Last time the stack of spare helmets was immpressive by itself

I'm bringing some of that foam stuff that you can use to re-inflate tyres to get you home..

Well, no buggers got any tyres that fit the rims that the slicks are on

So...... it's gonna be intermediates all weekend

Is there going to be anywhere to store stuff?
As I dont fancy having a load of octance booster and oil etc floating around in my car when on the Ring.
Thanks Ian
