Default Help and Advice

Hi guys,

Asking your advice for a friend, he own's a MY53 Wagon with 90k on the clock and has started making a whinning noise at speed also when dropping down through the gears when slowing.

He's not sure if it's the gearbox/transmission on it's way, could the gearbox oil need re-filling/re-placing or could it be the diff thats making this sort of noise?

Any help would be greatly received, not heard it myself yet but will be seeing him at the weekend so any idea's may help when I get to see the car.

Thanks in advance
Snowy
