I think push button starts are OK but only if the car is keyless entry. Having to put a key in and then press a start button is just a pain.

I would'nt bother tbh.

the keys will still need to be in the ignition and the ignition on, all the button does is the function of the final turn of the key that engages the starter motor.
the button will do nothing unless ignition is turned on with the key.

oh i see cheers tommy, i still think it looks nice but i wouldnt go through the trouble just to still have to put key in ect... be better if you just had a start button and you was off and the keys had to be within certain distance to read/start...

Our renault laguna at work has to have the card key inserted then push start button,so its the same as putting your scooby key in and hitting start button really.not my cup of tea but i can see the attraction.

Car modifying should have personal touches that make our cars different to everyone else's. Who cares if other people think its useless/not kool!
If you like it, then do it and post some pics........ I'm sure more people will see it and think 'actually that looks pretty smart' and do it themselves :0)

I used to have one a couple of cars ago. It was wired so the key had to be turned to the crank position then the button pushed. Makes it a little more difficult for someone else to start if they happen to have your keys and arnt expecting to use a start button.

Lol loving the responses knew it'd be divided, the one I'm looking at is 15 quid and you can turn the key fully to start or turn key till Electrics on then press button, seems pointless but quirky fun lol prefer that instrument panel though. I might buy one since its cheap enough and try it, it can go in dash or in cig lighter socket hole so if I don't like it no holes lol
