Spec C is a special edition. Much lighter than normal car, roof flap etc etc.
Spec D I believe is basically an STI but with watered down looks.
I'm not 100% clued up on the newage cars but sure someone with a bit more knowledge will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yours is just a 2005 STI mate.

As Matty said..

Spec c is a jap import special edition. Its lighter, has a different turbo set up to UK cars and is the ultimate blob eye.

Spec D ( discrete ) is just a more subtle looking sti ( think this only came in halkeye though )

What do you have ? Blob sti? More than likely just a type uk ( with or with out PPP )

As above mate, The spec-c is about 90kg lighter and has a different turbo set up(twinscroll) lots of other differences,

A spec-d is a UK STi with toned down looks

Subaru have used a variety of initials over the years,, I'll have a stab at a few

RA = Race Altered (lighter weight usually by having bits missing)

Type R = Retna (3 door bodyshel)

Spec C = Specification Competition (lighter weight more performance)

Spec C RA = (RA this time means record attempt at the Nurburgring)

V Limited = V for victory, they won something and made a special car

Limited = another edition just for the hell of it

Spec D = Specification Discrete (does what it says on the tin)

RA-R = Record Attempt - Race (attempt at the fastest production impreza)

S202 -S205 = Usually the "run out" model of a model design, classic / bug / blob etc

NBR = WRX with STi bits.

That's all the initials I can think of for now LOL, there are quite a few more

The "S" probably stands for Saloon, Sedan or Special.
The S205 is the odd one out as its actually the R205 (Hatch model. The "R" probably standing for Rally).

You forgot the latest WRX STi based S206

NBR stands for Nurburgring as in "NBR challenge" series and "NBR 24Hr race"

There's also the WRX STi tS, another JDM special, plus the "A-Line" range in Japan using the 2.5L engine and auto box.
