Default he's gone :-(

sad times

just watched my scooby project drive out my life !!! and something tell's me ill be back for more scooby action even after the drama it has caused me ? proper sweet motor "when it played ball " was a very hard choice to make but on to the next one now . viewing a bora v6 4 motion tommorrow and hopefully bringing it home ? gonna stay on scoobynet and start a new build thread "even though its a vw" hope a few people on here may find it interesting ?

The 2.8 is a cracking engine and very reliable, and the dash clocks in a bora are so much nicer than the mk4 golf ones! Make sure you put a cat back miltek on there too for that v6 howel

Shame it went after all the work you put into it! I like my vw's very much, had a few, currently have a tyre 1 aircooled beetle in garage. Bora will be a step down from subaru though. Good luck with the next project. Hopefully better luck. Lol

Sorry to hear Dave, but hope so now you will be happy

About the Bora and VW,i've drive the 2.8L which has been nice to drive, but not as good like ST220,which my brother have before.

Interior(on MK4) wise i was been disappointed with the Bora,i feel like i've been at Leon which has been cheaper too

Not sure how much you are looking spend, but 2.8L will drink as Subaru, insurance should be cheaper on Bora

Enjoy new drive if you will go with Bora or other makers...

Some forums are pain in **** matey

I used to have a vento vr6, was a really good car. Quick too. With an induction kit fitted they sound like such an angry car, noise is intoxicating!

What vw forum have you joined mate. I'm on vr6oc forum as I drive a 12v mk3 vr. If your on there make yaself known. When I joined vr6oc when I broke my classic track, took me a while to get used to the forum. There aren't as many members as in thf Scooby circles but there are certainly people on there in the know, and there is plenty oc handy info. I bought my mk3vr golf after breaking my 500 horse track wagon. It's nit got the power of the Scooby but it has plenty of power not to bore me and I still have fun with it. Plus the vr6 sound track is one that only the vr engines produce and no other v6 can match. Good luck with ya new venture. If ya nit on vr6oc get yaself on there. I'm under same username as on here

My mk3 12v vr6 sees 18 if I'm hoofing it round the twisties, and I can get 32+ on a steady motorway journey. I'm running 205bhp in mine and it ain't standard. I dont think those figures are bad tbh

Are you referring to Paul parkys car? They can make good power with chargers, and are relatively simple in comparrison to turbo builds.

Everyone's opinions differ I guess. They are fairly lardy in standard form, however mine is not over modded, just breather mods n a chip and it's now not so lardy with the figures it's making. I wouldnt think I'd be to embarrassed by a standard wrx which isn't a bad feat for a 16 year old fwd piece of ****! Lol driver ability is critical in fwd cars more so than 4wd.

Lol. Yeh I know what you mean mate. My scoob was home grown with my own hands and my hard earned. Makes you appreciate it more when you do the hard work rather than just hand over ya cheque book! I was talking to Paul the other month about one of his solid front engine mounts. He does seem like a grand bloke and obv talented like you say.

You've had a bad experience with Subaru's because, in truth, you did it wrong.

Forget VW, buy an STI and have the car you wanted first time around.
