Question Private plate and costs

Hi folks

The time has come for me to sell my wagon

It has a private plate on it and this is listed to stay on the car. But if I don't get enough for the car I will possibly looking at selling the plate on its own.
Reg transfers reckon its worth £600 but as I have never done anything before about trying to sell a lrivate plate etc, I don't have the foggyest at what the costs are.

So can anyone tell me what I would be looking at paying out if I were to remove the plate and sell it seperatly and what other things I may need to do sort out.

So really a total cost of what would need to be sorted please

Thanks peeps.

You can put it on retention and keep it for when you get another car.

Forget the price reg transfers told you. They valued my plate at £700 and it's been on their books for 2 years now without any takers. Even after I dropped my price by £200.
You need to have the plate removed from your car and put on retention. The DVLA office at Perterborough will sort it for you and issue an age related plate for your car. You'll then after a couple of weeks receive a retention document in the post.

Its not of any personal interest to me Shaun, it was just that I might let the car go a bit cheper and then claw some money back via the plate.
It's B5 TTD. Don't mean much to anyone I should think

Cheers for the info peeps

EOEUMC

If it's not of any personal interest then I'd make a few quid on it if possible... My Private plate was a present and is not actually worth much and people assume I am a joiner LOL

Since it was a present I'll keep it when the car goes even though it might cost me more to swap it
