Timing belt advice please
My bug is overdue a timing belt, just wondering if there is any benefit in buying a Cosworth timing belt?
And also is it good practice to replace the water pump too, or have been told a load of cobblers?
Is there anything else that needs could do with being replaced while the belt is being done?

just about to do this myself for the first time...
So whats the advantage of the Gates Kevlar belt at well over a hundred quid compared to a normal Gates belt at 60 quid and why change the guide?

Std guides can deflect enough to allow the belt to jump a tooth or two the CNC ones don't.
The Kevlar belts are stronger than std and do not have as much give in them especially if running high power/rpm.
Std car = std parts, uprated car = uprated parts!
Well worth doing the tensioner, water pump and idlers while it's all off though.
