5 or 6 speed??
hey guys,
what gearbox would you say would be best for a 450-500bhp classic road car?
5 speed with uprated internals
or
6 speed,do they do uprated gearkits for these?
i reckon 5 speed will be better for acceleration, but having all that power it may be better to use 6 gears to spread the power?
can anyone who runs either, give comments, experience and why that choice please.
thanks in advance
jamie

Albins are tested up to 580ftlb of torque I believe and have slightly longer ratios than the uk box. Kev runs one in his 22b @ the clinic. My personal view and understanding is that anything 2.1 or above on a 6 speed equals far to many gear changers on the road. So you lose the drivability, but then there's the uk hawkeye 6 speed with longer ratios lol
As Leeroy says its down to funds and of course personal choice. There both very strong boxes.
