Default Lower Arm recall query?

Just wondering who the people who have had letters are being contacted by: Vosa, DVLA, Dealer??
The recall was announced on the 15 Jan according to the Vosa website but I havent had anything yet for my 07 Hawkeye WRX. Its due a service in a couple of months so will mention it when I book it in but just wondering.

direct from subaru, they enclose a list of dealers that can conduct the work. you have to take the letter in with you so they can send in the slip to say the work has been completed.

Just call you're local dealer who will be able to check if you need it doing or not.

The mailings are being staggered as there are so many cars due. We are booked up for two weeks already! You will receive a letter over the coming weeks but your dealer can do it before then if you phone up.

Will you receive a letter even if you are the 3rd or 4th registered owner?

Yes, as long as you are the currently registered keeper on the V5.

Well lets just put it this way, my 51 plate blobeye is sat in a mates garage because the front n/s lower arm snapped, pulling the driveshaft out, pulling the hub off the anti roll bar, whist under fairly heavy braking, leaving the wheel stuck up against the wheel arch crushing the wing.....

PS that's why i'm on here trying to see about getting a replacement part and I've found a load of stuff about a recall...

So in answer to your question, i think that unless your the 1st owner, NO

I'm sorry to disagree but mine has a few more owner than that and I still received a letter cos I'm the registered owner.

As already said the letters are being staggered so your my well have been priced but waiting to be sent.

51 plate blobeye? Maybe this is why you don't have a letter? Lol

Out of interest, have you checked what type of front arms you have?
Easily done by just putting the steering on full lock and looking behind a wheel.
You may find that you actually have a MY06 with alloy front arms.

So how long have you owned the car?? People I know who have had the recall paperwork have certainly not been the original owners.

As long as the vehicle has been re-registered in your name then Subaru and it is affected by the recall Subaru will be in touch.

If, as you say, yours is in a garage with a broken lower transverse link that's made of steel, then I would be in touch with Subaru direct pronto.

You say 51 plate BLOBeye ?? surely you mean Bugeye as Blobeye not until MY03.
What actual model are we referring to WRX, STi ???
If its a WRX/STi it will probably have Aluminium arms anyway unless its a wagon.

It can only be a wagon as saloons have alloy ones ..

I had my car checked a couple of weeks ago at service time. They mentioned that they had, at that time, checked about 80 cars and replaced parts on 2 out of that 80.
