Default Bought one

As i have posted,i have bought a 2005 STI don't know what the model is called to be honest.
Bug eye,Hawk eye ????? It is a WRX STI PPP 301 bhp one i think.It is a silver/champane colour.
It has brembos all round,6 pots on the front. It has the button to adjust the Diff ???, but i just leave it in auto
untill i understand more about it.I will get some pics up when the weather
gets better, it has had 3 owners. The last owner has owned it for 3 years
32K with full SSH.It is in very good condition and i paid 8K for it.Did i get ripped off or is this a fair price.

Cheers
Gary

is it the 2.0 or 2.5?
sounds like a widetrack blob though, sounds a good car and a good price.

This sounds like one of the most desirable Impreza's around right now. Just a note, since you seem to be very new to the scene, make sure you use 99 RON fuel

Wow! £8k for a sti ppp with only 32,000 miles, even in the current market that sounds very cheap, well done!

Not everyone buying their first Subaru is an instant expert, loads of models out there to be honest, and can be a bit confusing for a first timer...

Thanks for the comments, made up how it drives. They are a big caliper for 4 pots,
my AP's 6 pots and were around the same size but bigger discs.I'm a bit **** on
the cleaning so i will put some pics up when i'm getting happy with the way it looks.
Any ideas on what safe / reliable power i can get out of her without spending mega
bucks.I am being told 1k should see me hitting around 350bhp and around the same
torque.A de-cat and a good map should get me me there.Engine, gearbox, fuel pump, injectors should be OK ??? What are your suggestions.

Loving it at the moment,it's a big change from the RS.

Which RS did you have mate? I went from a 3 door cossie to a Scoob, much more refined delivery of power with the Subaru, didn't feel as aggresive but was quick none the less. Looking at getting back in to the subaru fold soon, funds might not stretch to a wide track version like yours, may have to settle for a 03..

Had an 03 focus RS running around 330bhp/330lbs.The Subaru does
feel a lot more refined, but you can feel there is a fair bit of power
in there.I think it's running around 300bhp ATM standard ?.I believe
it should take around 350bhp/ ? lbs with just a de-cat and a good
mapper. The engine and box are supposed to be pretty good in the STI.

I did do a lot of reading up on here to determine what to go for.
The guys on here have been very helpful ,as i was going for a WRX
but was advised to go for the STI if i could afford to.

I am from the N/west and believe,i think it is Andy Collins who i need
to see regarding my map ???.Any advise on what i should do power
wise.I don't want to lose any reliabilty, but have a good budget if required.
I think 400bhp with good torque could be my goal. Can the car do this without
any internal work and keep it's reliability. I will do a search but i am just trying
to be a part of my new scene.Hoping to do a few shows / club meets etc.
