Spec D - sound deadening
Spec S owners...
I understand the spec d has a little more sound deadening than the standard sti.
Where is this extra sound deadening? Does it make a big difference?
What does the boot carpet in the spec D look like?
The standard sti doesn't have any sound deadening in it but my old p1 had a thick layer of the stuff.

not sure where the sound deadening is supposed to be. the boot lining in mine is single layer and no extra deadening behind it or on the boot floor.
never lifted the carpets so maybe its underneath them ?

The sound deadening is usually under the rear seats, floor front and rear and not sure if its also on the centre tunnel too, Can be a nightmare to remove.
Which standard sti model doesn`t have it as i always thought it was only the JDM RA`s and Spec C`s that did not have the sound deadening?

Ok guess the spec d doesn't really have more deadening. I've dynamatted all four doors an the difference is huge. Makes the car feel sooo much more solid and dratically improves the stereo. Think the boot floor and rear wheel arches are next.

Absolutely, I've done the inner and outer skins of all four doors in STP silver AND STP gold.
