Default is it just numpties use ebay?

stuck my v4 sti on there and had nowt but numpty characters asking how fast, what power, take datsun 120y in part ex etc, etc?!!! 77 watchers, nearly 2000 page views but still no buyer!
am i being unrealistic asking £2795 for 98r reg 98000 miles and api rebuild with receipt for £3300?
already replaced it with 4x4 as got 3 dogs to transport and needed massive boot space. after having a scooby, petrol consumption wasnt an issue so went for ml55 amg.
just need scooby gone to keep filling it up!!

would probably get more for it but would be a crime to break a good un.
it needs a loving home like a faithful old dog who's owner died!

im no good with computers and its made easy for photos on bay. i looked at doin it on here and had no idea where to start, and figured more people would look on there although no genuine interest.

There will be much more genuine buyers on here, you have a massive captive Subaru based audience on SNet

Agreed, get an account for free at photobucket.com and you can host the pics on there, then copy the IMG link and paste it in here to display the pic - worth paying for membership on here to get a pre-vetted audience tbh

cost of membership is no problem and seems great value, but all that other stuff about paste and hosting
messaging on here is close to my limit!
i'll look into it or perhaps do advert without pics. i can forward pics off my computer to email i suppose if i get interest.

Yeah, you could do that as well, but the photobucket option is actually fairly easy to use and works well - there is probably a guide on here somewhere but this should help get you started

Photobucket User Guide

1. go to http://photobucket.com
2. Sign up for your free account - think all it needs is an email address and you make up your username and password
3. In Photobucket, once you're logged in with new username & password, go to Albums in the menu, then All Albums:

You should get this screen:

Click the Create New Album option to get this:

I've called this one Test - pick a name, leave the settings below as public so the pics display ok then hit Create

You should get confirmation that its created:

Use the option to upload photos...

Hit that, then select the pics you want to upload and hit ok. Mute the sound unless you want to listen to the adverts

You should get this once complete:

Click on View Album to see your pics. The hard bit is done now...

Next, hover your mouse over the pic you want to use and you should get a pop up like this:

Use the bottom link - just click on it, the text will change to 'Copied' briefly.

Then simply paste the copied text in here

Hope that helps a bit

Yeah, have heard of that. Some guys ask for a £100 PayPal deposit when the auction ends to 'secure' the buyer, then cash on collection for the rest. Depends how serious the buyer is, but when dealing on eBay they have to remember its bid to buy, not to come and see it then argue the price...

I think your price is right given the engine, but it can be a challenge to sell a car like that through eBay as to the layman, who the hell are API?

I'd try Piston Heads, Auto Trader and it's worth as other have said becoming a member and posting it here, you're more likely to attract the sort of person that's clued up and know what they want.

Bigfoot, I think Ryan was just making the point that lots of Snet [I]Will[I] know API, but lots of people looking at EBay won't have a clue.
