Default Front Camber.

Is the front camber adjustable on my 02 wrx ? My strut to knuckle bolts are 2 different lengths even though they are the OEM ones and the top one has a spacer washer behind the nut. Which is the adjuster one ? Top or Bottom ?

The top one adjusts the camber, if you clean up the head of the bolt you will see the degree marks.

You can get a max of around -1.3 to -1.5 with that bolt.

Does it rotate back to zero or + 1.3 ? Mine has to much neg which is even on both sides, wears my front tyre inner edges. Just had 2 new front tyres and want it as near to zero as i can get.

Parallel will give quite bad understeer. If you don't want performance then fair enough

What is the standard camber setting ? I know what you mean about the understeer, the bolts are old and rusty , it has been set like this for some time. It is a prodrive model, mapped again. Steering is stiff and heavy, although if you floor 2nd the nose hits the sky and steering is light, so i take the point of zero camber setting. So its a trade off either way. May leave it as it is.

If you value performance and good cornering ability, avoid the factory alignment spec. That is a spec used to save lives, i.e. understeer massively

Is your car lowered, std dampers, coilovers etc?

No all standard. Its just the visual look of the car and the wear of tyres that bothered me. i wasnt thinking about when i wanted to go fast or open the car up in the lower gears.

Adjusted my camber today. Couldnt see any degree marks, the top bolt had like a D 1 stamped in centre of the bolt head. Is that a manufacture stamp or eccentric cam angle helper ? Also, is the eccentric a sharp cam or a progressive smooth half a bolt type ??
